Why we focus only on the U.S.
Grocery in America has its own rules. SNAP/EBT and WIC shape what sells and how it is reported. Sales tax on food changes at the state line and sometimes at the county line. The FDA's Food Traceability Rule adds lot-level record keeping for high-risk foods.
